You can vote if you are:
- A Canadian citizen;
- At least 18 years old;
- A Markham resident, property owner or tenant (or the spouse of one); and,
- Registered to vote.
Check, update or add your information to the Municipal Voters’ List. Even if you voted in a recent election, you may not be on the Municipal Voters’ List.
The Municipal Voters’ List for the 2022 Markham Municipal Election is not the same list used for the provincial election or federal election.
Watch for your Voter Information Letter in the mail this Fall.
Ways to Vote
Option 1: Online during Voting Days
October 14 from 10 AM to October 24 at 8 PM EDT
- Vote anywhere, anytime from a computer, tablet or smartphone
- Vote on a secure computer at any Markham Public Library branch during operating hours
Option 2: Paper ballot during Early Voting Days
October 20, 21 & 22 from 10 AM to 8 PM EDT
- Vote in person at any Voting Place in Markham
Option 3: In-person touchscreen on Final Voting Day
Monday, October 24
- Vote on a touchscreen at any Voting Place across Markham from 10 AM to 8 PM EDT
- You can also vote:
- Anywhere on a computer, tablet or smartphone
- On a secure computer at any Markham Public Library branch during operating hours
Option 4: Elections Markham Returning Office
October 14 to 22 from 10 AM to 8 PM EDT
- Vote in person by paper ballot at the Markham Civic Centre
- By appointment

Eligible voters can vote in the 2022 Markham Municipal Election on October 14 from 10AM to October 24 at 8PM EDT.
